Ordering
When submitting an order to Deschamps Upholstery, you are entering into a contract with us to supply you with handmade furnishing/soft furnishing items as described in the product details. This contact will become binding upon our acceptance via email of your order.
In the rare circumstance of the product you ordered not being available, we will contact you as soon as possible to discuss the appropriate action (i.e. full refund or a substitute product incurring a part refund or extra payment as required)
All products on this website have been handmade by Deschamps Upholstery. Many items are made to order, and unless otherwise stated at the time of ordering, your order will be shipped within 2-5 working days.
For bespoke orders, you will be given an estimated dispatch time when the design details are finalized. Some fabrics may be sourced from other countries, and this will affect the completion date.

Our terms and conditions have been written to comply with current UK legislation with advice from the Trading Standards Institute.
Contracts with Deschamps Upholstery are subject to UK Law.
Our products
Vintage furniture reupholstered using new or vintage fabric.
Soft furnishing made from new or vintage fabric.
We also try to describe/photograph all our items as fully & realistically as possible helping to provide you with a detailed account of our products. However, as all our items are "vintage" or "retro" they always come with a certain age-related wear, look & style. This can be anything from slight marks & gentle surface fading to minor scratches or sympathetic restoration. As we don't like the idea of complete restoration all that much, we try to keep any restoration to a bare minimum, this keeping the authenticism of each & every piece.
We are aiming for a condition that is perfectly functional, clean & that looks fantastic but still shows signs of the era in which it was originally produced. By placing an order you, the customer, are acknowledging the condition & retro/vintage nature of our products.
Product Descriptions and Photos
Clear pictures are provided to allow you to see Deschamps Upholstery's products. However, please be aware that they are taken in close up. Please pay close attention to the measurements provided for a true idea of scale.
Please be aware that the colours displayed on our website we consider to be close renditions of the actual colours in the fabrics used. However they cannot be guaranteed 100% accurate, as this will vary depending on each individual computer's monitor settings.
Our aim is complete customer satisfaction, however, should you be unhappy with any aspect of our service or products, or change your mind, please read our terms below:
Refund Policy
If you change your mind:
In accordance with Distance Selling Regulations you must contact us in writing within 7 working days of your receipt of the goods to request a refund if you change your mind.
A refund will be carried out by us within 30 days of agreeing the return in writing.
Please see exceptions below.
If your purchase is faulty:
You must contact us within reasonable time scale.
In most cases a full refund, exchange or repair will be offered (depending on the time scale), this will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
If a refund is agreed:
You must return the goods to us, failure to do so is a breach of your statutory duty, and you may be charged recovery costs.
It is your statutory duty to take reasonable care of the goods, until they are returned to us.
Any goods must be returned within a reasonable time scale and must be securely wrapped, preferable in the original packaging.
A refund will be carried out by us within 30 days of agreeing the return in writing.
Refund will include the original postage cost, if applicable, but the customer will pay the cost of returning the item to us, unless it is faulty.
The refund process means money can only be refunded to the source originally used to pay. For Paypal customers, this will be refunded into the customer's Paypal account (rather then the credit card used to pay through Paypal).
Exceptions:
We regret that custom or bespoke goods (where furniture is made to order to design agreed between Allan Deschamps and the customer) cannot be returned or refunded, unless faulty.
For any items judged to be damaged due to improper use or when reasonable care has not been taken by the customer, Deschamps Upholstery may claim against the customer for damages and breach of statutory duty. This does not affect the customer's right to a full refund.
VAT and Import Duty
All prices are stated clearly in British Pounds (GBP) at their full price. No VAT is added as Deschamps Upholstery is currently not a VAT registered company.
Deschamps Upholstery is not responsible for any import duties which may be applicable to your country.

Deschamps Upholstery's website does not contain any content unsuitable for minors or offensive materials, however, we cannot be held responsible for the content of any third party websites we provide links to from this site.
All images and products are available for social sharing (e.g Twitter, Facebook, Digg, Pinterest etc) where full URLs and credit are provided to Deschamps Upholstery or this site. Sharing is positively encouraged!
